5.1 We will remove small areas or matts and tangles, however, we have a no de-matting rule, in compliance with Animal Welfare Act (2007) section 5 which states that ‘All animals are to be protected from pain, injury, suffering and disease’. Attempting to brush out heavy matting would lead to a great deal of discomfort for a dog. Instead we will at all times advise clipping to remove the damaged coat. If your dog has become matted, and a complete clip off needs to be performed. We will endeavour to notify you before doing. We will not be held responsible for any incidents that may occur due to you having not suitably maintained your dog’s coat.
6. AFTER APPOINTMENT
6.1 If after the groom is complete, there is anything about the groom that you would like altered, please advise your groomer accordingly before you leave the salon. We are never offended by timely requests to make minor changes, so please do ask.
6.2 Your groomer will give you a collection time when you leave your dog at the salon. This will normally be around 2-3 hours later. A pet sitting fee of £7.50 per hour will apply for dogs that are over 15 minutes late being collected.
6.3 If you happen to be a few minutes early to collect, your dog may still be on the grooming table being attended to, please remain out of sight and hearing whilst you wait. Once your dog sees you, they will naturally start to get excited, your groomer may have to end the groom early for safety reasons. We will not be held responsible for any incidents that may occur should you or any person responsible for collecting your dog, distract your dog whilst he is in our care.
6.4 All dogs must be collected by 5pm (4pm on Saturdays) if your dog has not been collected by the stated times, we will look after your dog in our own home for 24 hours, once that time has lapsed, and if we have failed to communicate with you, we then will have no other choice than to deem the dog abandoned. At the point your dog will be taken to a local rehoming centre and we will notify you of where we have taken your dog.
6.5 There is a risk of grooming causing minor skin irritation, patchiness, abrasions or hair loss. This is a common possible side effect of the grooming process. There is also a low risk of allergic or skin reaction from the dog to a grooming product. You agree that you understand this and accept that these are possible outcomes of having your dog groomed.
6.6 It is very unlikely that a dog will be harmed from visiting our salon, your dogs safety and well-being is paramount to us. However due to the nature of this job and the equipment that we use, incidents may occur. If you believe that a dog has been injured, or has developed a medical condition due to the grooming process you must seek veterinary advice within 24 hours of your appointment. We will require a full written veterinary report stating the cause of injury/medical condition being specific to the grooming process.
