We work on a one-to-one basis which is a premium grooming service that ensures that your pet is given 100% of his or her groomer’s attention throughout the appointment period. This system can only work if clients bring their dogs and collect their dogs at the specified times. We reserve the right to turn away clients that are over 10 minutes late for their appointment, without the return of any deposit

1:2 At the time of booking please advise us if your dog is unsociable with other dogs, or has any behaviour issues. Or If your dog is elderly, excitable, or has any fears, or issues with any part of the grooming process. This will enable us to prepare and assign the appropriate time for grooming your dog.

3.1 We will groom your pet to your specifications which will be discussed in the pre-groom consultation. If you are sending your pet in with a friend or family member, please send written instructions or give us a quick call to confirm your requirements. This eliminates any confusion which can occur when receiving a client’s wishes ‘second hand’.

3.2 We groom each dog to the owner’s specifications, as far as the dog will tolerate and the coat condition and type allows. We will always place the dog’s welfare, safety and peace of mind above adherence to a particular style. In case of being unable for any reason to groom to the exact style wished by the owner, we will endeavour to contact the owner and agree upon a suitable alternative style.

3.3 While we have a great deal of experience and success in the grooming of difficult dogs, we reserve the right to halt the grooming process should a dog become aggressive or too distressed to proceed. Full or part of the grooming charge will apply.

3.4 We will not subject any dog to unacceptable levels of stress. If during the grooming process your dog appears to be finding it too stressIf we may not continue the groom. Or it may take longer than originally stated, and we will contact you. Full or part of the grooming charge will apply.

3.5 Where possible, we aim to allow dogs from different households to socialise together during the grooming process. Distracting them could result in an incident.
Please do not call your dog or any other dog whilst it is in the grooming salon.

3.6 We may take photos of each dog before, during and after the groom, which we keep on file to assist us in future grooms. We also may use some photos in advertising our service on our website and/or post to our social media sites. Most clients enjoy seeing their pet featured, but please let us know beforehand if you do not wish your pet’s photos to be made public.

3.7 We may uncover evidence of a health issue while grooming your dog. We will always advise you of any further recommended actions i.e. visit to the vet , dietary requirements etc.

3.8 If your dog requires urgent medical attention while in our care, We reserve the right to seek veterinary attention at a Veterinary Practice of our choice any fees incurred will be payable by the dog’s owner.

4. FLEAS & TICKS

4.1 We will check for fleas and ticks, and will advise you if your dog needs to be treated. Any dog found to have fleas or ticks will go straight into a medicated bath to kill the parasites. The salon will also need to be treated to prevent cross contamination therefore we make a charge of £8 per dog to cover the extra costs involved. You will be advised to treat your pet and your home environment to eradicate the problem.

5. MATTING

5.1 We will remove small areas or matts and tangles, however, we have a no de-matting rule, in compliance with Animal Welfare Act (2007) section 5 which states that ‘All animals are to be protected from pain, injury, suffering and disease’. Attempting to brush out heavy matting would lead to a great deal of discomfort for a dog. Instead we will at all times advise clipping to remove the damaged coat. If your dog has become matted, and a complete clip off needs to be performed. We will endeavour to notify you before doing. We will not be held responsible for any incidents that may occur due to you having not suitably maintained your dog’s coat.

6. AFTER APPOINTMENT

6.1 If after the groom is complete, there is anything about the groom that you would like altered, please advise your groomer accordingly before you leave the salon. We are never offended by timely requests to make minor changes, so please do ask.

6.2 Your groomer will give you a collection time when you leave your dog at the salon. This will normally be around 2-3 hours later. A pet sitting fee of £7.50 per hour will apply for dogs that are over 15 minutes late being collected.

6.3 If you happen to be a few minutes early to collect, your dog may still be on the grooming table being attended to, please remain out of sight and hearing whilst you wait. Once your dog sees you, they will naturally start to get excited, your groomer may have to end the groom early for safety reasons. We will not be held responsible for any incidents that may occur should you or any person responsible for collecting your dog, distract your dog whilst he is in our care.

6.4 All dogs must be collected by 5pm (4pm on Saturdays) if your dog has not been collected by the stated times, we will look after your dog in our own home for 24 hours, once that time has lapsed, and if we have failed to communicate with you, we then will have no other choice than to deem the dog abandoned. At the point your dog will be taken to a local rehoming centre and we will notify you of where we have taken your dog.

6.5 There is a risk of grooming causing minor skin irritation, patchiness, abrasions or hair loss. This is a common possible side effect of the grooming process. There is also a low risk of allergic or skin reaction from the dog to a grooming product. You agree that you understand this and accept that these are possible outcomes of having your dog groomed.

6.6 It is very unlikely that a dog will be harmed from visiting our salon, your dogs safety and well-being is paramount to us. However due to the nature of this job and the equipment that we use, incidents may occur. If you believe that a dog has been injured, or has developed a medical condition due to the grooming process you must seek veterinary advice within 24 hours of your appointment. We will require a full written veterinary report stating the cause of injury/medical condition being specific to the grooming process.

6.7 We will not be held responsible for any injury and/or medical conditions incurred after the grooming process. Please check your dog over before you leave the salon to confirm to your satisfaction that you are happy with the groom and that the dog is well and uninjured.
